Theophilus covered a Wang Chung song. Azealia is still sexy as hell. Purity Ring turned trap trippy. Flying Lotus, Earl, and a suspiciously Tylerish-sounding dude named Captain Murphy joined forces for the most mind-meltingly blunted jam I’ve heard in months. The xx came back to save us all, and Ariel Pink went all folky, ’60s parents-pop on us. Jacques Greene kept it settled while TNGHT smashed us in the fucking face. Not to mention, Passion Pit came with a gorgeously constructed collection of candy-coated pop songs that, despite occasionally sounding like the audio equivalent of rainbow sherbet, are actually super emotionally heavy. Or maybe it’s just that Pitchfork interview I read. In any case, it’s been a cool month or so of music. And we like to share. Happy Sunday.
