KEITH HARING AT THE DE YOUNG

A quick look at the de Young’s massive new Keith Haring retrospective, The Political Line. Focusing on Haring’s more deliberately political works, the pieces take on consumer culture, technology, sexuality, and racism head on, and span the length of Keith’s short but prolific career.

STREET VISUALS

I like the idea that you can kinda turn anything into anything. I know that’s kind of vague but it sort of fits to characterize the work above. Whether it be stairs that turn into a piano, or flies that turn into people, we can combine anything we want to create something new. The work of Sandire Estrade Boulet is another excellent example. Visualizing peculiar usages for everyday objects, Sandrine’s created a unique collection of street art pieces. Hope you enjoy.
